Hi, I am Heidi Linck

I believe that every place we abandon, whether it's a living room or an entire landscape, carries stories in which change and loss play a role. As a visual artist, I create poetic experiences of these abandoned places, to honor and give meaning to the memories and stories we have stored there.

Photoworks

I photograph maquettes of interiors and buildings that no longer exist. These miniature spaces are rebuilt from memory, making them distorted, incomplete, and deeply personal. I do not seek to recreate what once stood, but to give shape to how a place continues to live inside the body and mind.

The traces people leave behind, like holes in floors, marks on walls, fragments of use, become my raw material. Removed from their original context, they lose their function and begin to speak in other ways. In the maquette, they form a new architecture; in the photograph, they become a stage where memory and imagination meet.

Site-specific projects

In a built environment constantly in transition, places disappear before their stories are truly read. It is precisely in these in-between spaces, where old uses have vanished and new uses have not yet acquired meaning, that traces of social change, local histories, and human presence lie hidden. By making these traces visible and tangible, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of who we are, how we use our environment, and how space shapes identity.
