Artistic research on architectural transformations of the clastle
Temporary installation in the water surrounding castle De Cannenburch, Vaassen, The Netherlands

The installation consisted of three sculptural articulations of voids in the walls of the castle that were visible because they were filled up with a different brick. These voids embody the narratives behind the transformations of this castle. Although clearly visible on the outer walls, these voids were often overlooked and the shapes of the sculptures were abstract to most of the viewers.

Once installed in the water, the white shapes disappeared under a black layer of mud, which made them as invisible as the original voids. Although this disappearance was an unforeseen transformation, I incorporated this process into the project and stopped cleaning the work.
