Exhibition alongside a river bank

In 2013 I explored the river banks of the Rhine between Tolkamer and Spijk as part of my artistic research as curator of Bakens aan het Water. I collected objects, not by taking them with me, but by documenting them, as I didn’t want to disrupt this found exhibition. Every object was shaped and transported by real events. They were carriers of unknown, but true narratives, as well as provokers of imaginative fictional stories.

I presented my exploration in a lecture as a documentation of a very temporary in situ exhibition, of which I was the lucky visitor, and provided the location GPS data of every object. This exploration would also provide the concept for Element of Surprise (2015).

This post shares a selection of temporary micro-sites that were part of my documentation.
