Galerie Wit at Art Amsterdam 2010
In collaboration with: RAI Amsterdam/ Art Amsterdam / Edo Dijksterhuis.
Following an invitation to participate in Art Amsterdam, I became curious about the quiet hours that precede the design of the fair and the previews and opening immediately following there.
I asked the director of this art fair for permission to film the hall and empty exhibition stands in the hours before the gallery owners were allowed in to set up their stand. This appeared to be at night: the first galleries would start building at 6 AM. The sun rose during my exploration of the empty art fair. Because of this, and because of my presence, the light moved, as if the exhibition spaces were communicating with each other.
My footage was immediately shown at the opening and hardly anyone recognized the space they were viewing.
