I am an artist-educator focussed on transformation of space and place. In my practice, working in my studio is alternated with working in public space. My practice is known for monumentalizing disruptions of architecture and for working with what is already available in situ.
After graduating at ArtEZ Fine Art Arnhem, my work has been exhibited nationally and internationally by, among others, de Appel in Amsterdam (Prix de Rome 2009), Galerie Maurits van de Laar The Hague, The State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, Russia; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka, Croatia and on Amsterdam Drawing. In recent years I have realized a number of temporary and permanent works of art in public space. I am an experienced academic art teacher and regularly appointed as a curator or advisor for site-specific public space art projects.
