Geheime Bunker

2014 - 2020

The ‘Geheime Bunker’ was called this way because it was originally built as a secret, hidden bunker by the NATO. It’s codename was 5VEP. Situated in the woods, it was invisible and unknown to the public, except for the artists who were invited to work here. After being invited as a resident here myself, I became the curator for this AIR-program.

My program investigated the advances of staying in isolation and working on a deprived site that was totally isolated from the outside world and of working on an art project that would never be presented in situ to any public. From 2014 until 2020 about thirty artists stayed and worked on this hidden site. In 2019 the bunker was sold and the program concluded in an exhibition at Studio Omstand in 2020.
