In mijn tentoonstellingsconcept Metaphorically Speaking wordt de galerieruimte van Circa…Dit benaderd als een stedelijke publieke ruimte, waar tijdslagen elkaar altijd opvolgen. Ik nodigde drie kunstenaars uit om achter elkaar een nieuwe solotentoonstelling te maken. In plaats van eerst de vorige tentoonstelling af te breken en de ruimte weer schoon en wit te maken, was de vorige tentoonstelling zelf de gegeven locatie. Tijdlagen van ieders werk creëerden ongeplande situaties. Het project onderzocht ook de betekenis van artistiek auteurschap, zowel binnen als buiten de galerie.
Op basis van mijn archeologische vondsten in de ruimte heb ik de uiteindelijke installatie gemaakt waarin ik op verschillende plekken de tijd terug- en vooruitspoel. Originele werken uit het begin verschenen opnieuw en er ontstonden ook geheel nieuwe werken.
In my exhibition concept Metaphorically Speaking, the gallery space of Circa…Dit is approached as an urban public space, where time layers always follow each other. I invited three artists to create a new solo exhibition one after the other. Instead of first breaking down the previous exhibition and making the space clean and white again, the previous exhibition itself was the given location. Time layers of everyone's work created unplanned situations. The project also investigated the meaning of artistic authorship, both inside and outside the gallery.
Based on my archaeological findings in the space, I created the final installation in which I rewind and fast forward time in different places. Original works from the beginning reappeared and completely new works also emerged.
